Piling Handbook command on Tools menu is disabled

Situation:

The Piling Handbook command on ReWaRD's Tools menu is disabled if the Electronic Piling Handbook (EPH) is not installed on your computer or ReWaRD has been told to look for the EPH in the wrong folder.

By default, the EPH is installed in the folder C:\Program Files\ReWaRD2\Handbook. It will be missing if you chose not to install it during program setup or it has subsequently been removed from your computer.

The files that make up the EPH are:

• Handbook.hlp, Handbook.cnt, and Handbook.ico
• EPH??.hlp and EPH??.cnt (where ?? represents the numbers 01 to 12)
• Ephref.hlp, and Ephref.cnt

ReWaRD automatically searches for Handbook.hlp in the folder specified under Edit|Preferences|Tools|Folder containing Electronic Piling Handbook. If this box is empty, ReWaRD searches in the folder C:\Program Files\ReWaRD2\Handbook.

If Handbook.hlp is present, the Piling Handbook command on the program's Tools menu is enabled, otherwise it is disabled (i.e. greyed out).

Solution:

1. Re-run the ReWaRD setup program and follow the instructions on-screen
2. On the Select Components page, make sure that the option labelled "Piling Handbook" is selected (ticked)
3. Re-run ReWaRD to check that the Piling Handbook command on the program's Tools menu is enabled

If the EPH is installed but the Piling Handbook command on the program's Tools menu is disabled:

1. Choose Preferences from the program's Edit menu
2. Display the Tools page
3. Click the Browse button next to the box labelled "Folder containing Electronic Piling Handbook", navigate to the folder containing the Electronic Piling Handbook, and click OK
4. Click OK to close the Preferences box
5. Check that the Piling Handbook command on the program's Tools menu is enabled
