Benchmarks for Repute

As part of our quality assurance programme for Repute, we have performed a series of benchmark tests against independent pile group analyses reported in the Literature.

For each test, we provide:

• A brief description of the pile group being studied
• Reference to the benchmark publication
• Results from Repute, together with the project file used to obtain them
• A summary of the key results from the benchmark publication
• Discussion of the test results

Benchmark tests

• 4 x 4 pile group in firm to stiff clay (Tomlinson, 1994)
• 3-pile group under general loading (Poulos & Davis, 1980)
• 3 x 3 pile group for railway viaduct in North London (Basile, 2003)
• Axial loading tests on single piles and pile groups in stiff overconsolidated clay (O'Neill, 1982)
• Axial loading tests on driven piles in medium dense sand (Briaud, 1989)
• Lateral load tests on single piles and pile groups (Huang, 2001)
• Bridge abutment on two rows of piles, one raked (Randolph, 1996)
• Six model piles in sand (Davisson & Salley, 1970)
